Craft Expo Marketing Plan - Draft
A strong marketing campaign has been prepared for the Port Macquarie Craft Expo 2010 including:
Website
• The CraftExpo website has been active since July 2009
and updated regularly and monitored weekly.
• The website www.craftexpo.org has been linked to a
broad range of relevant sites including Tourism and
Regional Arts sites Australia wide.
$500 Craft Exhibitor Award
• An inaugural $500 Award to an exhibitor for ‘Excellence in Craft’ will be offered in the first year. This award will increase with subsequent Craft Expos as sponsors for the event build.
Media & Publicity Advertising
• Ads have been placed in Art & Craft Magazines and
north coast media outlets. This advertising campaign
will build in a continual process up until the event.
• Cross media promotion is planned with NBN, a broad
range of newspaper ads, DL flyers post box drops and
radio exposure;
• Further media & advertising, through websites
linkages, accommodation packages, including bus tours,
are being organised in conjunction with the event over
the coming months;
• Large banners are being displayed at the Port
Macquarie monthly Artists Market and will be utilised
for other major community events prior to the Craft Expo.
• Thousands of a broad range of Community Service Club
members have been advised of the event through service
club linkages state wide;
• The Tourist Information Centre will be selling tickets
for this event and already has information on hand re
the event at the Glasshouse;
• A free bus is from the town to the racecourse will
operate over the weekend to maximise tourist and visitor
numbers.
Sponsors
• Sponsors include NBN and others will be named shortly;
• Port Macquarie Tourism Board is supporting the event
which has been identified to be a major drawcard in a
school holiday period. A broad tourist group is being
targeted for the event including families, men and
children
• NBN TV will be used for ads that will be run prior to
the event;
Opening Event
• An opening Event is planned on the Friday night with a high profile guest to open the event, invitation only and Art Exhibition.
